Eva Longoria, 47, backs Serena Williams, 40, after tennis star gets double standards over retirement news
Eva Longoria officially declared her support for Serena Williams in an interview with People published on Thursday.
The 47-year-old spoke to the media at Saturday’s Voice as Madre event and discussed the double standards women face when it comes to parenthood.
The 40-year-old professional tennis player recently spoke to Vogue and revealed that she is retiring from the competition to raise her family.

During the interview, Williams said she felt it was unfair to explain her decision to leave the sports world to the public.
‘If I were a man, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife does manual labor to support our family,’ she said.
Longoria agreed with her actress, saying that gender-based discrimination affects women more than men.
“She is absolutely right,” the actress said. If this time had been different, if the sexes had been reversed, she wouldn’t have had to take years off to breastfeed.’

The current parents tied the knot the following year and in 2018 Santiago came into their lives.
The executive’s daughter has since featured in several snaps shared to her Instagram account.
