Australian streaming stars Lanan “LazarBeam” Eacott and Harley “Fresh” Campbell have teamed up with Melbourne-based developers Playside Studios to create their own arena shooter game, World Boss.
World Boss doesn’t have a release date yet. However, the store page on Steam is live. It describes the game as “the fastest-paced arena combat shooter ever.”
According to this list, there will be 15 players per lobby. It also includes a comprehensive progression system with unlockable perks and weapons, customizable builds and playstyles, a tiered leaderboard and more.
LazarBeam and Fresh both have strong ties to the competitive Fortnite scene. So it’s no surprise that the world boss takes some inspiration from his favorite things. For example, in addition to having the same cartoon aesthetic and interface, the gameplay teaser they released on YouTube shows that it has large dome shields, a jump pad, and more.
It has many features that are not used in Fortnite, such as perks, abilities, and power-ups. Although maybe one mode can be added, it is not battle royale.

It looks like the game will only be released on PC at this stage. However, the minimum requirements are not very demanding. So, it works on anything that isn’t too primitive.
The official World Boss Discord server is now live. There’s a lot of buzz going on from fans out there. Due to this the server number is growing every minute.
If you’re interested in learning more about the game or want to ask the developers some questions, check it out!
It’s also where you’ll find details on how to join the closed beta.
