Most Tuesdays and Fridays and some other days, Paul Sporer and I have a A $5 draft game for anyone interested. Once found, it will add a link.
Cases of covid
James Karinczak has been placed on the restricted list. The guards are available for the series against Toronto and he is their only unvaccinated player.
Luis Guillorme is out with a groin injury against IL. He is expected to miss 3-6 weeks which would make him a flop in most formats.
Walker Buehler is expected to undergo season-ending elbow surgery. There is no confirmation yet on what the surgery will be, but if it is Tommy John surgery, he will miss all of 2023.
Carlos Carrasco left Monday’s game with a side injury. This is unfortunate news as Carrasco has performed well. Normally, these types of injuries would take him 4-6 weeks to return if they were to force him out of most formats.
Josh Naylor left Monday’s game with a sore ankle. This appears to be a precaution as it is the same ankle he suffered last season. At this time, think about him day by day.
Various news and notes
Chris Woodward was fired by the Texas Rangers on Monday. In the year It’s a little surprising that he got an extension through the 2023 season. With Woodward out in Texas, it will be interesting to see how the running game is affected. Woodward in 2010 He has led the Rangers in stolen bases since becoming manager in 2019. This could affect the fantasy values of guys like Marcus Simen, Nathaniel Lowe, Leodis Tavares and Adolis Garcia.
Alex Cobb threw six innings against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five.

The line looks much better than the original. Although Cobb threw the fastest outfield game of his career, his secondary wasn’t sharp and he struggled with control and command. He was eventually held by the Diamondbacks lineup and recorded just six hits, one of which was a bunting single off the #5 hitter in the 6th inning, before Cobb got a double play to end the game. Cobb has surpassed his appearance numbers this season, so it’s good to see him get a good chance at an impressive outing as well.
Aaron Sivale threw six innings against the Tigers with three strikeouts and a walk.

Now that’s what we thought we’d get when we drafted him this year. He had an incredible 64% CSW on his curveball and threw it more this season and last season than all season. He’s still on Tigers, so I don’t want to get too excited, but he’s widely available and should be packaged in most formats.
