Ionescu is reporting to camp with Diamond DeShields, Natasha Howard, Raine Howard, and Nalisa Smith, among others.
Ionescu had a hugely successful WNBA season in 2022, making her All-Star Game debut and averaging 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists as she led the Liberty to the playoffs.
While some of the players still in the playoffs will eventually qualify for the Olympics in 2024, Ionescu’s selection this time is a hopeful sign that Team USA will have a chance to win an Olympic gold medal in Paris two years from now. .
