RB Leipzig are looking increasingly likely to agree a deal to sign Timo Werner from Chelsea, according to Sky in Germany.
Talks between the two clubs are taking place at ‘full speed’ and the Bundesliga club are exploring all options, whether on a loan or a permanent deal.
Chelsea signed the 26-year-old from Leipzig two years ago but he has failed to replicate his goalscoring form, prompting the Blues to make a £45m release clause.
Werner is said to be keen on the trip as he wants to earn regular game time in order to earn a starting place in Hansi Flick’s Germany squad at the World Cup in November.
His relationship with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is also said to be a concern.
If Juventus fail to sign Alvaro Morata, they will look for Werner, according to Italian Sky.
RB Leipzig head coach Domenico Tedesco declined to comment on Werner’s deal ahead of Saturday’s German Super Cup final.
Werner has scored 23 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, but started 15 Premier League games last season and scored four times.
Chelsea with advanced Cucurella talks
Chelsea are in talks to sign Brighton left-back Mark Cucurella and are willing to pay the £50m asking price for the Manchester City target.
The Spaniard handed in a transfer request on Friday and attempted a move to City, but the Premier League champions won’t pay Brighton’s price and Chelsea are now in a strong position to sign the 24-year-old.
The Seagulls have previously rejected a £30m bid for the defender from Pep Guardiola’s side, who are looking for a replacement after Oleksandr Zinchenko joined Arsenal.
Cucurella enjoyed his first Premier League season since joining from Getafe last summer in a deal worth around £15m and was voted Brighton’s player of the season.
Brighton don’t want to let Cucurella leave and he has four years left on his Amex contract and would need a big offer to sell him. However, the left-back has now pushed for a move, asking for a sale.
Sky in Italy: Napoli in Kepa talks
Napoli are in talks with Chelsea to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan, according to Sky Italia.
The west London club have indicated that they will pay three-quarters of his wages, focusing on a number of bonuses that Chelsea are demanding as part of the deal.
Napoli are currently refusing to pay and the mediators involved in the deal are working to find a solution.
Chelsea paid a world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper when they signed Kepa from Athletic Bilbao for £71.6 million in August 2018.
But the 27-year-old has failed to make four Premier League appearances in his last season at Stamford Bridge and has remained the club’s second choice behind Eduard Mendy.
