The Women’s Sports Foundation in New York has announced that she is the recipient of the 2022 Wilma Rudolph Courage Award.
In addition to her athletic career, Elana Meyers Taylor has served as the President of the Women’s Sports Foundation, the USA Bobsled Athlete Director and Skeleton Board of Directors, and the Athlete Representative on the USOPC Board of Directors.
Elana Meyers Taylor is a four-time Olympian and five-time medalist with an Olympic silver medal in women’s monobob first and bronze 2 in women’s bobsled in Beijing 2022. Recent achievements include bronze in 2010 as a push athlete and silver in 2014 and 2018, respectively, as a pilot. The 38-year-old won the 2015 and 2017 world championships in women’s bobsled.
Another important role for Elana Meyers Taylor is mother to son Nico, who was born in 2020 with Down syndrome and severe hearing loss. Using her platform, she advocates for equity and inclusion in sports and society. She recently announced her pregnancy with her second child with husband Nick Taylor.
